In the summer of 2008 we had an idea. Like many creations, it was molded out of the desire for something that we simply wanted for ourselves. What if there was a publication geared specifically toward the modern man who loves the South, and who sees life as art, a gift and an adventure – making the most of his time, resources and relationships?
We are surrounded by it. We rely on it. More and more of our world – professional and personal – is built on it. When we lose it, or it malfunctions, we think everything comes to a standstill. Yet, we don’t need to be as digitally dependent as we are.
Perhaps one of the most symbolic structures made by man, lighthouses recall images of strength, illumination and protection in dark and turbulent times. Built to watch over mariners at sea and lead them home, their utility as a navigational tool may have declined due to technological advances, but public interest and admiration has only increased.
